The Keys to Learning New Skills as an Adult

Written by admin on . Posted in Blog

Learning how to hack your brain and your behaviour are skills that every adult should be making a top priority. This interview on the Joe Rogan show didn’t mention the second part of neuroplasticity which is just as important as the first: After acetylcholine is released and “marks” neural pathways for strengthening DURING the difficult activity, the actual changes to the brain happen AFTERWARDS either in sleep or in “non sleep deep rest” (I.e. meditation or hypnosis – must last at least 20 mins to properly facilitate this process correctly).

So, after working on something difficult that creates uncomfortable “brain friction” for about 90 minutes, take a 20 minute nap or meditate calmly and let your brain “restructure” as you rest.
